Is It Ethical?

So, we have this young girl in our office who uses her charm to get what she wants. Whenever she calls tech support, they are right over to her desk. When we try to call, they tell us to submit a help ticket.

When we complain about her, our boss will either tell us to work it out or do nothing.

When she complains about us, our boss will call us in right away and put us in a spot.

When she wants to purchase some office supply, our purchasing agent will get her whatever she needs.

When we want to order something, our purchasing agent keeps telling us he lost our purchase order.

And list goes on and on...

I am talking about what is happening in the educational institution where I work.

This girl doesn't get in trouble even she is watching TV online at her desk instead of working!!! She takes several smoking break everyday. She comes in late everyday.

I just can't believe we are treated so differently.

I heard other employees were talking today...they said "If you are young blond, you get promotion here."

Wow, this is crazy.

I wish I could leave...Believe me! I am definitely looking. It is very stressful.

But hey, if the higher ups tolerate this sort of stuff? It looks bad. =| In a sense, this situation reminds me of my previous workplace. I didn't need to work around a system that I found too chaotic, irrational, and where movement is based very little on merit. So I left. =D Best decision I made this year.
